Sunshine through trees - each tonne of e-waste recycled saves 4.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions

Sims Recycling Solutions can help you to achieve your CSR objectives. Each tonne of e-waste recycled is equivalent to approximately 4.5 Metric Tonnes of CO2 emissions saved. During fiscal year 2009, the use of secondary materials generated from Sims' recovery operations, by others, avoided 13.6 million tonnes of CO2 being emitted.

Corporate Reporting Initiatives

Sims Recycling Solutions parent company Sims Metal Management Limited participates in a number of corporate reporting initiatives, including the Global Reporting Initiative and Carbon Disclosure Project. 

The APAC region made a number of savings in 2009 v 2008 on the following elements:

  • Energy use - 19% reduction
  • CO2 emissions - 37% reduction
  • Water consumption - 6% reduction
  • Waste generation - 2% reduction

We're one of the world's top 100 sustainable corporations
