Sims Recycling Solutions' Parent named a Global Top 100 Most Sustainable Corporation 2011

Sims Metal Management, the parent company of Sims Recycling Solutions, has been listed as one of the Global Top 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for the third year in a row. The list, compiled by sustainable business publication Corporate Knights, was announced at the 2011 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

New Year appeal: don’t throw out your old electrical equipment!

With Christmas over, Sims Recycling Solutions is appealing to consumers not to throw unwanted Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) away in their bins. Instead, the company is urging people to help conserve the earth’s resources by taking unwanted equipment to their local recycling centre.

A Sims Recycling Solutions’ Eco Week held in Pune recently is thought to be the first event of its type ever to be staged in India. The event was held in partnership with the Cognizant Foundation Fund – an organisation which campaigns on environmental, poverty and illiteracy issues in India.
