Sims Recycling Solutions Eco Event with Whirlpool India

The event was held in partnership with Whirlpool India, to raise awareness among employees and the wider public of the hazards of e-waste and was organised by Sims Recycling Solutions’ Sanjay Saxena.

The Whirlpool premises were provided with collection bins and publicity material to encourage employees to bring along their waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from home and from their offices for recycling. 

Ms Abhilasha Kataria, Mr Apurva and Abhimanyu Dutta from Whirlpool India and Prabitra Jena, Co-ordinator from Sims Recycling Solutions, were instrumental in making the event a success. Although not much equipment was collected, Ms Abhilasha and Mr Apurva were pleased with the result and they hope to hold Eco Days at other Whirlpool locations in India in the future.

Sanjay Saxena said: "Whirlpool is a very important customer for us and we have already been working with them at their Southern India locations. As we now have a presence in other parts of India, we approached them to explain the Eco Day concept and they readily agreed for us to conduct the program at their offices near Delhi."
